So, ever since we have lived in Dallas and had kids I have made it a annual thing to take pictures of my kids in the Texas Blue Bonnets. It seems to become more action than pose but it's fun (I think). Here are some past and present pictures. This is a field in Mesquite where we used to live. It has apparently been purchased by a church but not built on in 3 years. the last 2 years I have chanced it and driven out there hoping there are still Blue Bonnets and not buildings! (I can't locate 2006 at the moment)

Happy Birthday Mom!!

We made a trip to Memphis in mid April to help my mom celebrate a "big" birthday! It was fun to be able to celebrate (albeit a little early) with her. We left Dallas really early on Fri., arrived at my parents house and then turned around and "snuck" out to have a family photo made for her birthday present. That was rather humorous! Mr. C wanted little to do with sitting still, especially after 8+ hours in the car and very little nap. So most of the photos had him on the move or in my arms wiggling! They will be memorable and probably accurate of the time in life they were taken (8yr grandson, almost 7yr granddaughter, almost 4 yr old twin boys and a 17mo old boy).


The adults did get out for an evening dinner together which was great!

Well, I'm not sure who really reads our blog and probably most of you that do already know this but just in case................we are expecting #4!!!!!!!!!!! We are very excited. I'm almost 12 weeks with an estimated due date of Nov. 6 but a scheduled C-section sometime just before that date.

Yes, we know how this happens and yes it was planned, although a little unexpected, if that makes sense. We knew we wanted one more and I wasn't getting any younger. We also knew it took us over a year and "help" for the twins and 6 months for Mr. C, so we were figuring another 6 months or so. Well, God had other plans, 2nd try!! So yes if you do the math we will have 4 children under 4 1/2! yikes! But oh, what fun and they will be so close and share so many things in life.

We have decided we will (try) and let this one be a surprise, in other words we are not going to find out the gender. It will be hard for the planner in me, but exciting. And we figure the odds are pretty darn good it will be a boy. Lots of testosterone in this house, no I don't need a female dog!

So I told my hubbie with this onesie (see above) for our little one. He was getting the boys up that morning as I was headed to meet with some girlfriends. So i layed it on his desk and told him to put it on under the Mr. C's long sleeve shirt. Scott wasn't really paying attention, so he says, now what did you say, so I repeated and pointed to the shirt. He flipped, couldn't really believe what I was telling him. I sent the picture to my mom, she totally missed it, she thought it was a hand me down from the twins. They are excited for their next sibling!! Mr. C has no idea what is about to happen:)

So as I mentioned, I'm behind on posting. I really wanted to share some pics of Easter. It was a fun week. Papa was here doing lots of house projects (refinishing our deck, putting in a new light fixture, a gate for the top of the stairs and a new door, to name a few). Then to top off the day, as though Jesus being alive isn't enough, we had tickets (really good tickets) for the Spurs-Mavericks game that afternoon that were given to us by friends. Now in case you didn't know, we are Spurs fans. Hint: Tim Duncan, yes in someways our childs name sake:) So mommy, daddy and the twins had a really fun afternoon. Our boys can yell "Go, Spurs, GO!" louder than most adults that were there. And yes, the Spurs beat the Mavericks :) The boys had so much fun. Papa had a good afternoon with his little grandson, too.



So a great day to celebrate our Risen Lord. Our boys love learning about Easter with our Resurrection Eggs (we are still doing them). And I love Easter, it is such a great reminder of what our Saviour did for us on the cross, the sacrifice God made in His only son (can't imagine doing that) and how I can live everyday knowing that I am forgiven and loved no matter what!!! He is Mighty to Save and merciful!!!

16 Months!!!

Well, I had hoped this would be a post for 15 months about C (Tootles), but busyness has kept me from posting in a little while. So here is what Mr. C was upto the last month. At your 15 month check up you were 33 1/2" long-off the growth chart >95%. You weigh 23 lbs. (25%) You feel like alot more to me. I think because I carry you alot more than I ever carried your brothers-they were always in their double stroller. You had only taken 2 or 3 steps on your own and you were one speedy crawler. A few words like, mama, da, hi, bye, and a few signs for more, and chicken. You could point to your nose and ears and mouth. You still have the best smile with huge beautiful dimples. And you have some great curls so you won't be getting a real haircut anytime soon.

Since your 15 month check up you decided walking (around March 12th you took off) was cool and that is the only way to go. You also quickly figured out how to scale a flight of stairs in less than a minute. With this new found freedom you have also found a new attitude about doing it your way, ie walking in the direction you chose. When this is not the direction I/we are going in and I have to pick you up you can make a scene. Your appetite is odd. You love milk, cheese, bread, pasta, and meats, but not a fan of most fruit or veggies. So I have to sneak those things in most of the time. You have also begun saying a bunch of new words in the last 2 weeks, like "pees" (please), "tank u" (thank you), cheese, "do" for Drew, you've tried to say other names too. I think my favorite is "pees".

You are lots of fun and it is interesting to see your personality come out. You are much more aggressive than your brothers ever were at this stage. Somehow you must know that you will have to keep up and set them straight or they will rule the roost. You are also the best hugger. You will walk up to them and bear hug them. It is precious!!! We sure love you baby C!!!

SF Reunion!

Well, my husband was gracious enough to let me leave town again and leave 2 out of 3 boys with him. It was a girls weekend (+ the little one) in Topeka, KS.

SF stands for Spiritual Formation. This was originally a "forced" small group during seminary days, required part of the curriculum. It turned into a 4 year small group and deep friendships with girls/husbands and the kids as they arrived. So the purpose of this trip was to rendezvous in Topeka, KS where one of the couples now lives and pastors at Topeka Bible Church. They have just added a little boy to there family-Keifer!!

3 of us drove up from dallas with our 3 littlest kids and one of us flew in from Atlanta. It was a sweet time of seeing where are friends now call home, catching up and being able to have lengthy conversations and going deeper than we get to long distance or in the busyness of our different lives.

It was a great time! Thanks to our host/hostess. It was so fun to meet Keifer and see what life looks like in KS!

We need to do it again someday!

Passion Dallas

WOW!! What a joy and honor to serve as a volunteer this weekend as Passion Regional event Dallas. I was one of about 160 volunteers that helped to pull off an event for 6,000 college student from TX, AR, LA, TN, MS, IN, IL, and the list goes on. Some of the volunteers came from WA, MO, MN just to name a few and some had been at 2 or 3 previous regional events in the last 4 months.
Here are a few things that stuck out:
1) 6,000 college kids in love with or in search of Jesus spent 36 hours worshipping and listening.
2) they gave money (for the international events and for wells to be dug in villages in Africa), towels and socks (to be given to area homeless shelters), and the clothes off their backs to give to students at Union University in Jackson, TN that were devastated by a tornado 2 weeks ago.
3)this wasn't a conference meant to be about speakers or bands, but the emphasis was on what these kids could do to change the world-starting with living a life as a believer in Jesus that looks different than their non-believing friends and moving all the way to believing that God may have huge unimaginable plans for their lives that they need to be willing to say "Yes, Lord" because He is Lord not because He has shown them the plan and the map for how it will happen.
4)It was awesome to be a part of something that is so much bigger than I am, that will have a trickle down effect all over the world and not to make me feel good or me known but so that Jesus will be known.
5)Finally, I found myself praying that someday my kids would be at something like this, in love with their Saviour, willing to give themselves to Him in whatever way He asked. And that I would trust God with whatever that looked like. It is scary to think of what lies before our kids in this world and I know I don't want to push them or force them but I will earnestly pray that God will capture their hearts and protect them from evil!

Most important, is a thank you to my husband for flying solo with our boys so that I could be a part of this. I would have loved to serve beside him, but he gave me the opportunity to do this because he loves me.
