We had such a great family vacation. Mornings started early-kids don't care about time change:) But we headed out around 7am, got donuts, coffee, egg burrito, the paper and went to the small park in the middle of Breckenridge. Where our kiddos played for at least and hour and 1/2. One morning we walked around the city and window shopped. On Tues. we went fishing at a lake just outside of Breck. It was chilly but the scenery was fantastic. "we" caught 1 trout (not us, our friends, who have experience fishing). One morning we had to take daddy to the medical clinic. He had a case of altitude sickness as well as some kind of bug that knocked him out for a bit. Our last morning in Breck we finished souvenir shopping. Afternoons were for lunch at the condo, some swimming in the indoor/outdoor pool (heated), and naps-sometimes for all of us. Then we would head out for more adventures and dinner. It was very relaxing, but very fun and new for us.
After Breckenridge, we went on to spend 2 nights with friends of my family who have a place in Silverthorn, CO. A beautiful house with lots of space and a toy/play room. They were fantastic host/hostess. Cooked us dinner, showed us around Silverthorn and Dillon, walk around the lake, farmers market, playground, and drove us around including up to the Continental Divide-where it was really windy and cold! We (parents) got out for a photo op and left kiddos with our friends in the car.
All in all it was the vacation of a lifetime, once we got past the first 2 nights of sleep adjustment (C got to sleep in a bathroom in his pack and play) and daddy recovered from his illness-which he really didn't let it slow him down much. We hope to go back again someday! Thanks to both sets of friends that showed us around and hosted us!!!!
